Message For Those Moving to Texas

ATTENTION: Those moving to Texas from California, Illinois, New York, New Jersey, and Ohio because your taxes are too high and your state is virtually bankrupt.

It was the moocher mentality of your voters voting for politicians giving you a free lunch that has bankrupted your state. Encouraging not working with all of the entitlements to the Moochers, and poor work habits from Union Workers with unsustainable benefits is what ruined your state.

Don’t come here and try that crap in Texas.

Leavin Chicago for Texas

Keats “vote with their feet and wallets” and leave for Texas

Former State Senator and Republican Cook County Board President candidate Roger Keats and his wife Tina are leaving Illinois to live in Texas. They bid farewell to their Illinois friends in a Wilmette Beacon article and with this letter this weekend, saying they’re “voting with their feet and their wallets”:

GOOD BYE AND GOOD LUCK

As we leave Illinois for good, I wanted to say goodbye to my friends and wish all of you well. I am a lifelong son of the heartland and proud of it. After 60 years, I leave Illinois with a heavy heart. BUT enough is enough! The leaders of Illinois refuse to see we can’t continue going in the direction we are and expect people who have options to stay here. I remember when Illinois had 25 congressmen. In 2012 we will have 18. Compared to the rest of the country we have lost 1/4rd of our population. Don’t blame the weather, because I love 4 seasons.

Illinois just sold still more bonds and our credit rating is so bad we pay higher interest rates than junk bonds! Junk Bonds! Illinois is ranked 50th for fiscal policy; 47th in job creation; 1st in unfunded pension liabilities; 2nd largest budget deficit; 1st in failing schools; 1st in bonded indebtedness; highest sales tax in the nation; most judges indicted (Operations Greylord and Gambat); and 5 of our last 9 elected governors have been indicted. That is more than the other 49 states added together! Then add 32 Chicago Aldermen and (according to the Chicago Tribune) over 1000 state and municipal employees indicted. The corruption tax is a real cost of doing business. We are the butt of jokes for stand up comics.

We live in the most corrupt big city, in the most corrupt big county in the most corrupt state in America. I am sick and tired of subsidizing crooks. A day rarely passes without an article about the corruption and incompetence. Chicago even got caught rigging the tests to hire police and fire! Our Crook County CORPORATE property tax system is intentionally corrupt. The Democrat State Chairman who is also the Speaker of the Illinois House and the most senior alderman in Chicago each make well over a million dollars a year putting the fix in for their client’s tax assessments.

We are moving to Texas where there is no income tax while Illinois’ just went up 67%. Texas’ sales tax is ½ of ours, which is the highest in the nation. Southern states are supportive of job producers, tax payers and folks who offer opportunities to their residents. Illinois shakes them down for every penny that can be extorted from them.

In The Hill Country of Texas (near Austin and San Antonio) we bought a gracious home on almost 2 acres with a swimming pool. It is new, will cost us around 40% of what our home in Wilmette just sold for and the property taxes are 1/3rd of what they are here. Crook County’s property tax system is a disaster: Wilmette homes near ours sell for 50% more and their property taxes are ½ of ours. Our assessed home value was 50% higher than the sales price. The system is unfair and incompetent.

Our home value is down 40%, our property taxes are up 20% and our local schools have still another referendum on the ballot to increase taxes over 20% in one year. I could go on, but enough is enough. I feel as if we are standing on the deck of the Titanic and I can see the icebergs right in front of us. I will miss our friends a great deal. I have called Illinois home for essentially my entire life. But it is time to go where there is honest, competent and cost effective government. We have chosen to vote with our feet and our wallets. My best to all of you and Good luck!

Isn’t Chicago where Obama, Valarie Jarrett, Rahm, Hillary, and virtually all of the other thugs Obama appointed from?

Is Katy, TX Becoming the Dearborn or Brussels of Texas?

The below can be found at: http://actforamericahouston.wordpress.com/2012/04/28/katy-tx-mosque-construction-goes-ahead-imam-continues-to-serve-on-anti-american-fatwa-committee/

Katy, TX Mosque construction goes ahead; Imam continues to serve on Anti-American fatwa committee

Posted on April 28, 2012 by Duke_of_the_Franks

Residents of Katy, Texas (just west of Houston) may or may not know that the Muslim American Society Katy Center, a Muslim Brotherhood controlled mosque on sleepy Baker Road is set for imminent construction that will expand its current 1250 sq foot house-cum-mosque to a 7,200 square foot worship center/community center/madrassa

Their elaborate plans to Islamacize the area starting on May 5th can be seen here.

But that’s not the whole story

Residents of Katy are probably NOT aware that Dr. Main Alqduah Imam and Leader of the Muslim Brotherhood run Katy Mosque also serves as a scholar on the fatwa committee of AMJA (Assembly of Muslim Jurists of America)

Three fatwas (religious edicts) that have been issued by the AMJA may be of interest to Katy residents, especially those serving or have family members serving either in the military or in law enforcement / judicial roles, or have daughters.

1. Dr Main himself issued an edict in 2010 that made it a sin for Muslims in America to send care packages to US troops stationed in Iraq & Afghanistan as they are occupying Muslim Lands and thus

. . .  any type of interaction with them [the Troops] endows their presence with legitimacy and makes those who deal with them accomplices in the crime.

2. A recent translation from Arabic into English disclosed that the same Fatwa committee also in 2010 forbid Muslims in America to work in a law enforcement or judicial system that does not use the Law of Allah (Sharia). This fatwa was the subject of our blog entry last week which you can read here

3. Today word came to us through our friends at Translating Jihad that the fatwa committee of AMJA has issued an edict from Dr. Hatem al-Haj who explains that

female circumcision is recommended and even ‘an honor’ for women

the Translating Jihad article informs us that according to the WHO (World Health Organization) female circumcision, more commonly known as Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) includes procedures that intentionally alter or cause injury to the female genital organs for non-medical reasons; has no health benefits for girls and women and can cause severe bleeding and problems urinating, and later cysts, infections, infertility as well as complications in childbirth increased risk of newborn deaths.

Now remember, this is the Assembly of Muslim Jursits of AMERICA and the fatwas are issued for MUSLIMS IN AMERICA who as we have just read, have been instructed by their religious leaders to : 1) Not support US Troops. 2) Not support, co-operate with or work in Law Enforcement and 3) force their women and little girls to have clitorectomies.

Nice neighbors !!!!

Not content with issuing Anti-American fatwas, Alqduah has conducted fund raising events at his mosque with the likes of Sirraj Wahaj, an un-indicted co-conspirator in the 1993 terror attack on the World Trade Center. Wahaj is a darling of the Islamic supremacist talk circuit, has prolific fundraising capabilites and as is common for someone closely associated with other American Muslim Brotherhood groups (CAIR & ISNA) Wahaj regularly talks about how Shariah should replace the U.S. constitution and how America was to blame for the 9/11 attacks. For added good measure, Wahaj, a convert to Islam (real name Jeffrey Kearse) was first a member of the Nation of Islam, and remains a fellow traveler with NoI leader and renowned Jew-Hater Louis Farrakhan. More on Wahaj can be found here

Those who opposed the appearance of the Katy mosque in 2008 warned about the type of anti-American activities a rising Muslim Brotherhood controlled mosque bring to the area. Sadly they have been proved right.

[Note to the willfully blind and limp-wristed Houston media here - especially the pathetic hacks at the Houston Chronicle & the Quislings/Kapos at the Houston Anti-Defamation League.  It never was and never has been about pig races you dolts. It always was and always has been about not wanting the type of seditious, terror financing, anti-American bigots infesting our neighborhood the way that Muslim Brotherhood front groups like MAS; CAIR & ISNA seem to specialize in. And by the way it remains a FACT that a 7200 sq foot facility as planned CAN NOT be sustained by the water, sewer, drainage and road traffic infrastructure currently in place.]

This is what is going on all over Europe. Now we allow it to happen in Texas.

Judge Says Texas Can’t Cut Funds to Planned Parenthood!

AUSTIN, Texas – A federal appeals court ruled Friday that Texas cannot ban Planned Parenthood from receiving state funds, at least until a lower court has a chance to hear formal arguments.

A three-judge panel of the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals agreed Friday with a lower court that there’s sufficient evidence the state’s law preventing Planned Parenthood from participating in the Women’s Health Program is unconstitutional. The program provides basic health care and contraception to 130,000 poor women.

District Court Judge Lee Yeakel had issued an injunction keeping Texas from enforcing the law on Tuesday, but Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott appealed to the Fifth Circuit in New Orleans.

Cinco De Mayo Meal

sun lakes oakwood cinco de mayo

In Honor of Cinco de Mayo, the below are some excellent recipes for a good Cinco de Mayo dinner. These and other great recipes can be found in the Cookbook Forum at OldHippie.com.

Pepper jelly spread on corn chips is a good way to start the meal.

Hot Chilli Pepper Scoville heat units

Naga Viper pepper …..1,382,118
Red Savina habanero..350,000–580,000
Scotch bonnet pepper…100,000–350,000
Jalapeño pepper..2,500–8,000
Poblano pepper….500–2,500
Green Bell Pepper,….No significant heat,

Napalm Chilli Jam
1 1/2 cups vinegar
6 cups sugar
1 1/4 cups Jalapenos,Red New Mexico ,or Habanero Chilies.
1 package pectin

Puree the chilies with a food processor or a blender. If using a blender, the vinegar may be needed to keep the blender from stalling and aide in the puree process. Either way, take care when opening the cover of the blender or food processor; the fumes are deadly. Place puree in a non-reactive sauce pan and add the powdered pectin. Add the vinegar if it has not already been used in the puree process. Stir to dissolve the pectin. Place over high heat until the mixture comes to a HARD boil (a boil that cannot be stirred down). Stir continuously as the mixture is being heated. Add all of the sugar and bring back to a full rolling boil while stirring constantly. Boil hard for 1 minute. Remove from heat and skim off the foam with a metal spoon. Place in hot sterilized jars and seal. Makes about 6 0.5 pint jars.

Note 1 Each type of chili produces a different colored jam as well as a different heat response. The jalapenos will give a slow turn on and slow turn off of medium heat; the New Mexico chilies will get the back of the throat and the habeneros will produce a “step response” of sensation.

Note 2 use a food processor and do not use vinegar in the puree process. To measure, I cut the chilies into the size of half a habanero and fill up a 2 cup liquid measuring container. Measurements are not too critical and the bite will vary from batch to batch as the chilies vary in heat content….. If the bite is too much for people, bell peppers can be used to bring up the amount of fruit used.

……………..
Hot Apricot Habanero

1 lb. habenero peppers
1 cup cider vinegar
1/2 cup apricot nectar
6 cup sugar
1 pkg. certo
6 drops orange food coloring

Directions
cut off stem ends of peppers blend together with 1/2 of the vinegar and apricot nectar. bring the vinegar and sugar to a boil, add the pepper and coloring and bring to a boil for two minutes. Add the certo and bring to a boil again. Skim , pour into jars and seal. makes about 24 oz of jelly.

  5. wet rim of glass on wet paper towel, and dip onto plate of powdered sugar

5 Minute Chili con Queso for an appetizer

This is a great way to whip up a small bowl of Chili Con Queso in 5 minutes in your microwave. A brick of Velvetta and a round of Queso Fresco will make four bowls. (About a week around here!)1/4 large Brick on Velvetta (I use the Low Fat) Cheese
1/4 Round of Queso Fresco Cheese (a white cheese sold in small 5″ diameter 1″ thick rounds)
1/4 jar of your favorite sausa (my wife likes peach — I like habanero)
Splash of milk

Cube the Velvetta and Queso Fresco into small cubes and throw into a ceramic bowl that will be twice the capacity of the ingredients — as it will bubble up in the microwave.

Pour the sausa and then the milk on top. Put bowl on a plate and heat in the microwave on high for 1 minute. Stir. Heat again for 1 minute, and then stir. 1 more minute on high ought to do it. Should be very warm and smooth. You may need one more minute depending on your microwave.

Dip corn chips in the Chili con Queso

For a Cinco De Mayo Entree — nothing beats Sweet Grilled Fajitas

  • 8oz LaChoy (LaChoy is the only Gluten Free) Soy Sauce
  • 8oz Cooking Sherry
  • 8oz Pineapple juice (buy six pack of little cans)
  • 1 Tsp minced garlic
  • 2 Skirt Steaks
  • 1 Sweet or Yellow/Spanish Onion Sliced long ways
  • 2 Bell Peppers sliced
Put skirt steaks in a 1 Gal Glad bag. Mix the soy sauce, sherry, garlic, and pineapple juice and pour into the bag with the fajita meat. Seal and refrigerate for 1 day.Grill until fully cooked, turning only once. Thinly slice against the grain (makes less chewy), and serve with tortillas, pico de gallo, shredded cheese, grilled onions and peppers, and Spanish Rice.

I have a metal grilling basket that I cook the peppers and onions in — so that they’re less greasy. Slice a large Spanish (yellow) or 10-17 (sweet) onion and 2 green peppers, and coat with 1 oz olive oil and 1 tsp of Hungarian Paprika by shaking in a Tupperware type of covered bowl. Grill in the grilling basket while grilling the fajitas.

The marinade makes the tough cut skirt steak very tender and a little sweet.

See the Fajiata Soup recipe for the fresh leftovers

Bon Appetite

Damn Yankee Explains History of Cinco De Mayo

Most people don’t know that back in 1912, Hellmann’s mayonnaise was manufactured in England. In fact, the Titanic was carrying 12,000 jars of the condiment scheduled for delivery in Vera Cruz, Mexico, which was to be the next port of call for the great ship after its stop in New York. This would have been the largest single shipment of mayonnaise ever delivered to Mexico. But as we know, the great ship did not make it to New York. The ship hit an iceberg and sank, and the cargo was forever lost. The people of Mexico, who were crazy about mayonnaise, and were eagerly awaiting its delivery, were disconsolate at the loss. Their anguish was so great, that they declared a National Day of Mourning, which they still observe to this day.

The National Day of Mourning occurs each year on May 5th and is known, of course, as Sinko de Mayo.

So we Celebrate it with Grilled Fajitas and Margaritas.

Execution Stopped

Anthony Bartee, 55, faces execution for the slaying of 37-year-old David Cook in 1996 in San Antonio, then stealing Cook's Harley Davidson. Photo: Associated Press / SA
Quote:

HUNTSVILLE, Texas – A federal judge in San Antonio at least temporarily stopped the execution Wednesday of a rapist who was on parole when prosecutors say he killed a neighbor and stole the man’s Harley Davidson motorcycle.

U.S. District Judge Fred Biery granted a reprieve to Anthony Bartee after his lawyers filed a civil rights lawsuit against Bexar County District Attorney Susan Reed. Bartee, 55, was scheduled for lethal injection later in the day.

The Bexar County prosecutor’s office immediately appealed the court order to the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, saying the judge’s reprieve was improper and to allow the order to stand would “reward late filers and create a perpetual motion machine of last-minute attempts to stay executions.”

Within 30 minutes of Biery’s order, the U.S. Supreme Court, without comment, rejected Bartee’s other appeals.

Bartee was in a small holding cell adjacent to the Texas death chamber while the legal maneuvers played out. His lethal injection was scheduled for 6 p.m. CDT but the death warrant remained valid until midnight.

Both the active civil suit and the appeals rejected by the Supreme Court focused on Bartee’s goal to win additional DNA testing of crime scene evidence.

Bartee was convicted of murdering his 37-year-old neighbor, David Cook, in 1996 and stealing his motorcycle. Bartee was on parole after serving nearly 12 years in prison for raping two women.

Baptist Preacher and Cajun

A Baptist preacher was seated next to a Cajun on a flight to Louisiana.

After the plane took off, the Cajun asked for a whiskey and Coke, which was brought and placed before him.

The flight attendant then asked the preacher if he would like a drink.

Appalled, the preacher replied, “I’d rather be tied up and taken advantage of by women of ill-repute, than let liquor touch my lips.”

The Cajun then handed his drink back to the attendant and said, “Me too!  I didn’t know we had a choice.”

Enjoy the Ride – We Do the Work

Texas Motorcycle Excursions offers well planned and enjoyable 1-Day to 4-Day excursions that allow you to enjoy that ride while we handle the details.

  • We’ve rode thousands of miles in Texas to come up with the beautiful less known routes with scenic stops, which stay off the Interstates. Safety, comfort, and beautiful scenery are our main goals.
  • We provide a chase truck pulling a 24? enclosed trailer to follow behind the group for carrying all of the riders’ and camping gear, food and refreshment, tools and cleaning supplies, and emergency trailering capabilities. You don’t have to be loaded down, compromise with what you bring for the excursion, or concern yourself with being stranding away from home.
  • We arrange for the food, refreshment, entertainment, and lodging.
  • We limit the number of motorcycles for a more relaxing experience.

Book Now. Since we represent the best value (cost vs. pleasure) on our excursions, limit the number of motorcycles, and because most of the excursions are of a seasonal theme — they fill up quick.

The Quote of the Decade:

The Quote of the Decade:

The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the US Government cannot pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies. Increasing America’s debt weakens us domestically and internationally. Leadership means that, the buck stops here. Instead, Washington is shifting the burden of bad choices today onto the backs of our children and grandchildren. America has a debt problem and a failure of leadership. Americans deserve better.
